Moving Tips
To avoid damaging your furniture or floors, always lift – never drag or push – when moving your furniture.
Furniture Safety
To avoid damage to the following items, never sit on the arms of a sofa or similar piece of furniture, rest on a recliner’s footrest or sit on the end of an open sleeper.
Direct Sunlight
To best protect the look of your upholstered pieces, avoid placing upholstery and leather in direct sunlight, moisture or heat. This will prevent fading and discoloration.
Pilling
All fabrics will shed their excess fiber and pilling may result. To remove unwanted pills from your upholstered furniture, use a fabric shaver or similar tool.
Down Cushions
Down cushions should not be vacuumed. Instead, use a sofa soft brush or whisk broom to clean fabric on these types of cushions.
Vacuuming
To ensure the look of your upholstered pieces, vacuum once a week using a brush attachment only.
Pillows and Loose Cushions
To keep pillows and loose cushions looking their best, these items should be rotated, flipped and fluffed on a weekly basis. This will keep filling materials evenly distributed, ensuring even wear over the life of the upholstered piece.
