Dale Anne Featheringham, DDS has been providing the families of Mansfield and Wooster with quality orthodontic treatments since 2006. She has built a reputation of having a friendly, family oriented and professional practice where you can expect the most efficient and comfortable orthodontics. Dale Anne believes that building personal relationships with patients creates a deeper desire to want to exceed their expectations - and it is how she's been able to define success smile after smile. In 2016, Dr. Featheringham formed a partnership with two other trusted orthodontists to create Trio Orthodontics. The Trio team has seven locations in Ohio: Circleville, Dublin, Mansfield, Powell, Upper Arlington, Westerville and Wooster.
Dale Anne and I became acquainted in 2006 when she first came to the Mansfield area. A few years later, we joined forces to create her lodge-inspired office in the Sterkel Plaza in Mansfield. While families have been delighted with the surroundings of the office, it's the effervescent personality of Dale Anne and her team, along with the quality orthodontics treatment, that has them pleased with their experience and has them referring their friends to enjoy the fun and excitement themselves. Fun and excitement aren't usually words associated with orthodontics. But with Dale Anne involved, it's a natural! So, when it came time to design another facility for her in Wooster, I knew we would set out on a journey of decorating and designing that would delight her patients.
Wooster, Ohio is the headquarters of several industrial entities and commercial operations, has a strong educational arena with The College of Wooster and two subsidiaries of The Ohio State University, and remains an agricultural center for Ohio. The rich and fertile grounds of Wayne county support farming operations outside city limits, while the revitalized downtown area supports businesses and restaurants enjoyed by locals and visitors.
It was the land and sky surrounding Wayne County that gave Dale Anne and me the inspiration for her new office. The blue sky on a late summer evening, the softer green of a newly sprouting plant, the yellow of a kernel found in an ear of sweet corn and the russet orange of the fall leaves of a Maple tree were translated into Sherwin Williams paint colors used throughout the building. The colors named Georgian Revival Blue, Shagreen, Hinoki and Copper Wire brought life to the walls and were further punctuated by the use of white doors and trim. The beauty of a classic red and white barn influenced our creation of the desk area. The sturdy beams found inside such a barn sparked our imagination to create a center ceiling feature in the waiting area, and the wire windows of a chicken coop became the motivation for entry glass with such wire in between the panes.
We partnered with Bill Savel of BCI-Dental in Brook Park, Ohio and Steve Frankhouse of My Floors/Prints and Paints in Galion, Ohio to bring our designs to life. Bill's team has 25 years of experience in dental and medical practices and understands the intricacies of the behind the-scenes requirements in dental facilities. Steve's team provided all our flooring needs. Both gentlemen brought along a patient attitude and their own sense of humor to work alongside two energetic and quirky gals who had a vision for an orthodontic practice that would be fun, colorful and would be sure to bring a smile to faces of those who came.
Bill's talented finish carpenters created our whimsical waiting area, and theme-appropriate accents and accessories added the finishing touches. A large cow picture takes center stage on a long waiting room wall that also includes a tractor seat and other tools that can be found on neighboring farms. Antique glass milk bottles sit atop reproduction tin tables and sconces that are reminiscent of milking parlor lights hang above the check-in area. The bright environment, coupled with an energetic team and an enigmatic leader, makes the Cleveland Road office a pleasure to visit during frequent orthodontic visits.
What a moo-va-lous experience it was... decorating for a beautiful smile.
